Roger Pye tragically died on the 30th of September whilst diving off the Dorset coast and unfortunately his body to date has still not been recovered.
Roger, a member of the NVA for only a short while, was a most excellent sabreur. He started fencing at Emanuel School in Wandsworth in about 1962 and continued to fence although interrupted by his work abroad. He represented his county Surrey and was County champion on numerous occasions. He fenced for the Southeast section and was also a member of the Rest of Britain team.
He leaves a wife and two teenage boys to whom we extend our deepest sympathy.
