The Committee of British Veterans Fencing wishes to make it clear that it condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the military action taken by Russia against the peoples of Ukraine. The Committee stands with the people of Ukraine and hopes that a peaceful resolution can be speedily achieved.
The Committee adds its voice to the statement of our governing body British Fencing and supports the action taken by EVF and the IOCs recommendations.
It is the decision of the Committee that, until further notice, British Veterans Fencing will not support any event including Russian or Belarusian fencers. Similarly, fencers from those countries will not be permitted to participate in BVF events.
This position will be reviewed regularly as the situation develops.
